Whatever you do and whatever you intend to accomplish in life one thing is for sure. It should be something you’re passionate about. Ask yourselves these 10 questions and if your answer is NO to any of them – quit and do something else.
- Am I doing what I love every day?
- Am I doing what I love every day?
- Am I doing what I love every day?
- Am I doing what I love every day?
- Am I doing what I love every day?
- Am I doing what I love every day?
- Am I doing what I love every day?
- Am I doing what I love every day?
- Am I doing what I love every day?
- Am I doing what I love every day?
You’ll see that once you start follow your dreams other people will notice a halo of energy forming around you. It’s the ‘halo of passion’. The halo of passion leads to success. Nothing is more true than this!
What are you waiting for?

Question eleven, sixteen years later: am I doing what I love every day? Still yes. Which means, by the logic of my own text, I never had to quit — though I did have to keep changing what the work looked like, because the world made sure the question never got comfortable.
Here is what I have learned since 2010: the ten questions were right, but they were also the easy part. The hard part is that what you love turns out to be a moving target. The tools of my trade have been reinvented more times than I can count — lately by machines that can sketch, write and render alongside us — and every reinvention re-asks the question with a sharper edge: is it still the craft you love, or just the habit?
The halo of passion holds up, by the way. I still see it form around people who mean it, and I have never once seen it successfully faked. So, question twelve, for whoever is reading: am I doing what I love every day? Careful. It only accepts one answer, and it checks.

The halo of passion
Slog inTen questions, one question: the most honest piece of futurism in the book, because it predicted nothing except what the reader would do next. Sixteen years on, the halo test still works — passion remains the one signal the internet never learned to fake convincingly.
